Jost van Dyke 2009
We’d heard that a small regatta featuring old wooden sailing boats was to take place on Jost van Dyke. Following our lovely trip to Jost van Dyke in 2006, we thought it would be wonderful to visit the neighbouring island for a regatta as well. Once again, we set sail from Soper’s Hole at the western end of Tortola.
Unfortunately, there was no regatta – perhaps there wasn’t enough wind. So we spent the afternoon in Great Harbour and went on a short trip to the wonderful White Bay.
There we spotted the sailing boat on which we’d previously been on sailing trips. We rang the captain and, on the spur of the moment, he invited us to come aboard. We then made the return journey on board the sailing yacht “Aristocat”.
